We exist to equip you...
… through a tailored budgeting program that provides practical assistance and supports people with disabilities.
SpendAble helps you handle your money in a way that works for your life, care needs, and goals.
You'll learn how to:
— Create and manage your finances that fits your day-to-day spending
— Allocate money into different wallets for personal care, social activities, housing costs or essentials
— Set spending limits and rules for safer transactions
— Track your money in real time to make informed financial decisions
— Use a safe and secure transaction without the risks of cash or sharing bank details
This is a practical and flexible solution to improve your financial budgeting and give you more confidence with how your money is used across community and support services.
Absolutely. If you usually rely on cash, SpendAble can help you:
— Assess where you might be at risk and implement strategies to mitigate this
— Strengthen your options by learning how to use a debit card or make digital payments for places where cash isn't accepted
— Develop strategies so your support network can best support your circumstances
The SpendAble budgeting program is free!
If you'd like extra help, you can book 1:1 support hours with a SpendAble facilitator. These are fully funded through the NDIS under Training and Support (Item 15_037_0117_1_3).
You choose how much help you want, use as many or as few hours as you need.
SpendAble has been created alongside people with real lived experience who know how challenging managing money can feel within aged care, disability, or community housing.
It's designed for anyone who wants to feel more confident with money, whether you pay for things directly, or have carers, family or support workers assisting you.
Accessing the program is free! So give it a try and see what you think.
Yes. Even if someone else makes all your purchases, SpendAble can help you:
— Identify concerns and find safer ways to handle money
— Gain visibility over how and where your money is spent
— Review spending done on your behalf
— Build your confidence to start making some payments yourself if that’s something you want to do
This is about boosting your independence and giving you more control, no matter how much or little help you need.
If you’d like extra support, one-on-one sessions are held online via video call (Zoom, Google Meet or similar). This means you can access help from anywhere.
